With attractive color and a soft foam grip, this deluxe cane with offset handle by Drive Medical is stylish, comfortable and functional. As an added bonus, a handy wrist strap attached to the handgrip will ensure that you are always in reach of your cane when you need it. The handle is ergonomically designed to reduce hand pressure allowing for increased stability, while the foam grip ensures added comfort. The handle adjusts from 30" to 39" in height and locks securely thanks to a metal lock-nut silencer. The sturdy, 1" diameter anodized, extruded aluminum tube construction can withstand a 300 pound weight capacity.

Instructions

Safety Summary: To ensure the safe operation of Drive Canes, these instructions must be followed. Proper Cane Height: For a more comfortable fit, ensure shoe height is the same as shoe style worn most frequently when using cane. 1. Stand as upright as possible on a firm, flat surface and let your arm hang down naturally by your side. 2 Adjust cane so top portion of handle touches inside of wrist where it meets palm. Height Adjustment: 1. Turn the anti-rattle collar knob Counterclockwise to loosen. 2. Press in snap button. 3. Slide extension up or down until snap button protrudes through an adjustment hole on handle end of cane. Note: An audible Click will be heard when snap button securely protrudes through the adjustment hole. 4. Repeat steps 2-3 until cane is at height determined proper cane height on this instruction sheet. 5. Tighten the anti-rattle collar knob by turning clockwise. Maintenance & Care: 1. Ensure snap button releases and re-engages properly. 2. Inspect cane tips for wear and damage. 3. Replace any broken, damaged or worn items immediately.

I bought this in a rush without doing any research or comparisons and I am super happy with it and lucky that it worked out so well. The grip is very soft and comfortable as well as supportive. It has a variety of heights and I would think it would be good for someone up to 5‘10“ or more, depending on how high or low you prefer to use your cane. I am 5’ 3 1/2” and 123 pounds and it has been more than sturdy for me. I have not used it long term as I am only using it to recover from a surgery.

What I Wanted

Exactly what I wanted. I looked specifically for a very soft padded handle. Orhers I've tried are too hard. i would have liked color options but the price, quality and handle are perfect. Delivery with this company has always been satisfactory. If I was shorter It wouldn't have been acceptable as it doesn't adjust low enough for someone under 5'4"ish. I'm 5'5" but I like my canes a little short.
