Great For Houseplants

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I tried this miracle gro potting soil for the first time this year and I like the way that it's made my houseplants after transplanting. It seems to have given them a new life. Definitely worth buying.

INFESTED WITH GNATS

If you love your plants and enjoy a pest free live garden indoors, AVOID THIS LIKE THE PLAGUE!!! Never have I ever had such a horrible gnat infestation as what happened after repotting 3 plants with this product. Within a few days there were a couple and after a month, hundreds. Complete and utter disappointment with this brand. Lost a loyal consumer based on this experience. Also fair to note that I have never gotten so many thorns embedded in my skin from a potting soil (practically half raspberry thorns by volume).

Marissa, we apologize for this experience with our Miracle-Gor Potting mix. Insects could not survive the composting and packing process. However, it is possible for them to enter the bag during shipping and storage. You can apply about 1/2 inch of horticultural sand on top of the soil of potted plants. Larvae cannot burrow through the sand and will die. We are committed to making this right for you. Fungus gnat problem.

Last year in the summer of 2020 I used miracle gro potting mix for my 23 plants. The soil retained so much water that some plants died of "over watering" even though I didn't water my plants for 2 weeks. I also had a bad fungus gnat problem on ALL of my plants especially the more tropical ones. I used so many methods to keep fungus gnats out, they worked but there were still so so so many. I thought the problem was me but when I got different soil, my plants really thrived and I had no more gnats in my room and plants. Please do not buy this, it gave me so much trouble and killed some of my plants.
