Since there is no dirt at my apartment, it's all paved, I purchase various soils for my container garden and mix them up along with compost. Potting soil is very expensive and some is filled with wood and rocks and whatever else. I can work with this.

I switched the soil in all my pots to Happy Frog brand last year. I was disappointed. It seemed heavy and dried out easier. I saw someone on line do an experiment with 14 different potting soils over a season with the same plant, sun, water etc.. Miracle Gro grew the best plants. It just confirmed my feelings. This year I'm going back to my tried and true. Miracle Gro!
