The top pillow/armrest things DO NOT COME OFF, they are sown into the fabric and plush, and definitely push this against a wall, as there isn't any back support. But for ~$200, this is surprisingly comfortable and cost effective, as a bed, its a solid 7/10, but as a couch, a weak 6/10. It's not big enough to be a main couch, being almost exactly a standard twin bed size, but if you won't consider used, and want extra space for 2 friends to spend the night, it works well. I can imagine it under a lofted dorm bed, or in a large unused corner of a bedroom, or in the corner of a living room to have some extra seating. But ensure its against a wall, I imagine it's not great in the middle of a room. I have a test to make it a little taller, putting the top "mattress" on a cheap twin bed frame, seems to work better for butt support as a couch.
