Soft, colorful, and wash up nicely!

Being a parent and grandparent, there are many things I know about raising babies, one, is that you must have burp cloths everywhere! It does not matter if you just fed a baby or not, they are loaded up and ready to share anywhere and anytime! So, burp cloths are essential throughout your home and car, you can never have enough! I truly like these Gerber terry lined burp cloths, as they have all the right stuff. They measure out at 7.5” x 19”, a perfect size for a shoulder, as they fit nicely, without falling half down your back or shoulder. They are made of very soft top material, 100% cotton, great for absorption. The inside material grips the shoulder nicely and is made of 80% cotton and 20% polyester, which helps reduce any leak through to your clothes. The colors are bright and cheerful, and after three normal wash and dry cycles, not to forget a bit of split-up, they came out looking new and still soft. My three month old granddaughter snuggled into them each time, with ease and comfort. The dryer did shrink them just a bit, losing 1” in length and ½” in width, but no real issue. The do have a nice sewn on edge, which helps stop the spit-up from running over to quickly, though a bigger ridge, almost pocket like, would be the best. They are made in China for Gerber Childrenswear. I like them and have since bought 12 more: nine four our house (visits) and three for the car, so much better than towels or t-shirts! Overall, a great product by Gerber; approved by me, nana, my daughter, and of course, our lovely granddaughter!

Love the color and how well they absorb

We picked the Gerber Newborn Baby Boy Assorted Terry Lined Burp Cloths to be used with our granddaughter. As of right now we have the one grandbaby and figured the blue color would be a good neutral gender color, even though they are labeled as for boys. The material they are made of is nice and soft for the baby and they seem to be nice and absorbent. We like that they are skinny and long so they hang over the shoulder very nicely. When we had our kids the burp rags we purchased were squarer and we constantly had to adjust them so they would not fall off. I like the length of these. They stay in place nicely and keep me clean when baby burps up. The package comes with three different designs as shown in the picture. You get one that is baby blue, one that is blue stripped, and one with little dogs on the. Great for any baby you want to use them with. The back side feels like micro fiber cloth and they hold onto you very well. I would recommend these for anyone with a baby. Keep you clean when the baby decides you are its target.

Saddlebag Style

I was very pleased with the look, style and feel of these burp cloths. They are more impressive in person than the picture I saw online. The one with the pink spotty look is actually a pink pattern of giraffe markings on a white background, and the other pattern is a little giraffe, an elephant and a bird, repeated on the cloth with the heads of tiny flowers and a pink heart between the mammals. I wasn't sure what to expect when I read the “terry line” description. I discovered that it is the second side of each cloth, and it is all white terrycloth. I was pleasantly surprised, that the front side is a cottony jersey material, which feels like the kind of material used in making bed sheets and tank tops. It's very soft on this side and medium soft on the terry cloth side. I spilled root beer on one, just to see if stains clung to the fabric. I used one of the cheapest clothing detergents and it came right out. When I removed it promptly from the dryer, there were a few wrinkles in it and it looked ¼ of an inch shorter and the sides drew in a little, too. I don't know why the care instructions say not to iron it, because it did well on the wool and cotton temperatures, and gave me back most of the original size. They're not the full size burp cloths we used when my niece was a baby. This newer style seems longer, slender, and it hangs more comfortably over the shoulder like a saddlebag that has very little weight. It wouldn't protect the sleeve of the caregiver, if the projectile was going in that direction, but it's my understanding, that babies don't have much control over turning their head, so you're safe. When I tested the absorbency on the already laundered burp cloth, both sides caught the liquid immediately, and the underside stayed dry long enough, to give you time to escape. The colors in this set include white, lavender, two shades of pink, and a little bit of aqua, lime green and black. All three burp cloths are lined with lavender trim and quite feminine looking. I very much love the animal theme. I wouldn't hesitate at all, adding this to a pretty gift basket for a new mother. It's really a beautiful, high quality set. And when the child gets past the burping stage, these cloths are long enough, to make a nice application for Mr. Miyagi's car cleaning lesson.
