I was slightly disappointed by the width of the shelves but i was aware they were 20 inches when i ordered them. the shelves themselves are super light weight, very easy to put together and unpack, they can handle a huge amount of weight -- but they arent made of steel. If you have a child that climbs, you should already know that really any tall shelf isnt going to be a great idea, once they are on it, its already heavier at the top than the base and it willl topple over. If instead, youre looking for a lot of compact storage space, this is a great option. These are pretty competitively priced. I ordered this shelf for my inlaws garage, i was not going to invest a lot in storage for plastic charms. it is compact, intuitively designed, takes about 30 minites to put together. Im pleased with it but if youre looking for some heavy, metal, monster thats made of oak and steel, Im not sure why these listings are appearing for you -- this is affordable shelving that is made of super light weight material (inexpensive to ship) and is made to do one job, be a compact shelf. its not made to be climbed on or weather the elements of the outdoors or be waterlogged - its a shelf thats maybe not even 50lbs in the box. im sure its easily damaged by things it was never designed to handle, im sure it can come dented or bent if shipped unpromperly. However, it is a good shelf, its what its supposed to be and i think its very nice.
