Nice rug and will be even better when it lays flat

It turned out to be much lighter than I the photos indicated but it has good colors in it to work with a lot of accessories. It has a nice feel to it and with a pad/anti-skid mat under it is very comfortable to walk and lay on. My question is how long it takes to lay out flat? It came folded in a box rather than a roll so it has a lot of folds and puff spots that will need to lay flat.

This is a thin rug and is actually more like a mat. I just wanted something for our dog to lay on and our 4 year old grandson to play on. I also used rug grips on the corners to keep it laying down.
