These water bottles are gorgeous! Great quality, matte finish, easy to clean top, and very ergonomic carrying handle. We like the slightly indented sides for comfortable grip while drinking/carrying too. After reading all of the reviews (here and Amazon), I was hesitant to buy for kids considering how the lids open and close… However, so glad we did! We practiced many times with our four year-old before sending to preschool. While she still needs help from time to time (someone to hold the bottom while she pushes and releases the top), she is so proud of herself when she's able to get it open. Maybe not the best design for little hands compared to the attractive push-button type on other brands, but overall these water bottles are a big win in our household! Our oldest daughter loves hers, and I just ordered one for myself as well. As long as you're willing to help your littlest out with learning how to open and close on their own, I think you'll love these as well :) **protip to unlock: in one motion, push top in/back (listen for the click) then lift straight up for spring release open
