The Original Argument : The Federalists' Case for the Constitution, Adapted for the 21st Century (Paperback)
Key item features
Glenn Beck revisited Thomas Paine’s famous pre-Revolutionary War call to action in his #1 New York Times bestseller Glenn Beck’s Common Sense. Now he brings his historical acumen and political savvy to this fresh, new interpretation of The Federalist Papers, the 18th-century collection of political essays that defined and shaped our Constitution and laid bare the “original argument” between states’ rights and big federal government—a debate as relevant and urgent today as it was at the birth of our nation.
Adapting a selection of these essential essays—pseudonymously authored by the now well-documented triumvirate of Alexander Hamilton, James Madison, and John Jay—for a contemporary audience, Glenn Beck has had them reworked into “modern” English so as to be thoroughly accessible to anyone seeking a better understanding of the Founding Fathers’ intent and meaning when laying the groundwork of our government. Beck provides his own illuminating commentary and annotations and, for a number of the essays, has brought together the viewpoints of both liberal and conservative historians and scholars, making this a fair and insightful perspective on the historical works that remain the primary source for interpreting Constitutional law and the rights of American citizens.

perfect for all ages
It is an interpretation of the words of the Constitution of the U.S. made into the words of language today and made to be understandable to what the Founders of this country intended their words to mean. I recommend that all Americans over the age of 12 read this and talk about the Constitution with each other and children under 12. It is our right to make our own decision and opinions about this subject.
Original Argument By Glenn Beck
This is an excellent book written in modern day terms that is far easier to understand than the original Federalist Papers. This format gives you the original text, then gives you the modern text below that. It is easy reading and very powerful for every American to know today. This tells us EXACTLY why we MUST know our constitution and NEVER allow the government to replace it with anything else. It is informative to Americans so we can be armed with knowledge enough to realize when our congressmen and our elected leaders have over stepped their boundaries. It gives WE THE PEOPLE the power, not the other way around. We are the only nation in the world that has enjoyed freedom for over 200 years and with this book you will know why! I urge everyone to read it and suggest it to your friends and family. This should be required reading in schools.
