This glass butter churn is actually quite well constructed. The glass jar seems thick and sturdy, the handle and gear action are smooth and easy to turn, and the top hand-hold is cushioned a bit. So why only three stars? Allow me to explain. Putting heavy cream into this glass jar, placing the whipping mechanism inside, screwing on the lid and turning the handle all work as advertised. However, after a full hour and 20 minutes, the cream never turned into butter. It thickened, but it never coalesced. I'm not sure the typical person operating this device would be able to make butter in it unless they spent a good two hours manually churning it. What I am 100% certain of is this. If you put your heavy cream in this container, put one regular beater on your hand mixer, and let the beater turn the cream, you'll get butter very quickly - and you can go back to doing some fun exercises for "arm day" - like push-ups, pull-ups or drink-ups. You're welcome.

I bought this to make butter, not as an exercise tool for my wrist. Cold cream. Cold jar and T.h.i.r.t.y F. I.v.E MINUTES LateR! After vigorous spinning and a sore wrist, all I had was froth. The gears didn't mesh well so it wasn't a pleasant exercise either. I ended up pouring it into a bowl and with my hand mixer, I had butter in eight minutes.
