Great little saw

I had some small trees and bushes in my yard that I wanted to cut down. I was going to purchase the kind of hand saw that my Dad used all the time but ended up buying this one. I like its small size and carrying case. It made quick work of the trees and bushes and we were finished in about an hour. My neighbor helped me and actually ended up doing most of the cutting. He was very impressed with the saw and couldn't believe it only cost $18. He said he'd like to buy one too.

When I Saw it…

Looks okay for the price. I like the SOG brand alright and have been treated well by their products in the past. Comes with a cheap but handy storage pouch. I bought this for a roadside emergency kit for my car so I don't need it for heavy, everyday use. I just need it to get me home in case of a downed limb during a storm or something.

backpacking firewood saw

I have been updating my rut trying to cut weight. I enjoy backpacking in the Linville Gorge Wilderness and needed a lightweight economical option to cut firewood without sacrificing quality. I know that SOG makes good knives and the price was reasonable. Not only did I cut a pound from my pack, but I found my time spent cutting wood was reduced. My only advice is if you have fine skin you may want to pack a lightweight gardening glove.
