I like the way "you" can customize the flag pole to suit "your" application ! I bought it to place on my power wheelchair, because I was tired of drivers not being able to see me clearly when I rolled down the street ! I made the pole long enough so that the flag was about a foot and a half over my head (when I am sitting on my power chair) !

The flag is wrapped up tight to the pool. You need to use a hairdryer to smooth it out once this is done. It will stay out and is ready to use. Be sure to use a hairdryer to move out. The flag lay the flag out and use the hairdryer on it once wrinkles are gone the flag is ready to use. Good luck and enjoy.

This is a durable and well made product. I used mine to mark the location of the septic system on our property. There was plenty of length to put the pole in the ground. It's also good that you can write on the reflective strip with a magic marker by pressing it flat. It would work well on driveways or bicycles as well.
