Only had to attach the seats to the frame, which was totally wrapped. Glides come on the chairs, which are great for my brand new laminate floors. Chairs are metal, but are lightweight. They look great around my island.

I ordered 8 of these for my kitchen bar area to replace wooden ones. They are very sturdy and semi-heavy. The seat is the only thing you have to "assemble" by screwing in 4 screws to the metal frame.
