Great Ice packs

I really find these ice packs very useful in my home. From headaches, to achy backs, and throbbing muscles these ice packs do wonders. I also like the size of these. I have always gotten the 5x7 size, but I know that I'll be sticking with this larger size (6x9 in) from now on. And the coldness lasts a decent amount of time to deal with your issues. Will definitely be buying these again because I like to keep them in my home.

Good in a pinch

I purchased these unstant cold packs to have on hand for injuries and emergencies. I haven't had to use any yet, however they were delivered intact with no issues. My two complaints would be that based on past experiences, I wish the cold packs lasted longer...they do not stay cold for the duration they are advertised for. Also, in regards to shipping, the cold packs were all just packed into a box without being put into a bag or extra padding. Had the box been damaged during transit, there would have been a huge mess with the contents leaking out.

One stout pack!

Even though the pouch is durable, I always hate squeezing these things as I expect them to explode like those small packages of mayonnaise. It does seem to take some effort to break the inner pouch and folks with mobility issues and/or arthritis may have a hard time doing so, but subsequent usages will be easier as you now know what to expect and won't be as hesitant with the anticipation from like that of a party popper. Ultimately, I appreciate the force required to activate as it is a testament to its durability and by extension, its shelf life. I keep both sizes of heat and cold packs in my home and auto kits. Think back at that one time you used a tire iron to change a flat. That pain you caused between your thumb and forefinger -- yeah, you know what I mean. Anyway, cold packs are a must in any kit especially when away from a source of ice. The 6x9" size gives a good "icing time" and you'll easily get a good 15-20 minute session out of one, depending on where it is used on the body and the ambient temperature. You should stop treatment after that time anyway and reapply 30-40m later if necessary. Just a quick ecological note: the plastic on these pouches is recyclable. Check your local grocer -- if they collect plastic bags and film, these can be tossed in the same bin. But the gel must first be removed of course. Dump that in the trash and rinse the plastic. Do not pour it down the drain as it will congeal and clog. McKesson is a US company and a popular first aid brand with a global footprint. I trust their products and these ice packs are no exception.
