Purchased for 7. 5 year old son who is a CLIMBER! He loves the slide and uses his "calming" swing to swing back-and-forth off the top of the slide and back. Quality is top-notch: I was surprised at how STRAIGHT all pieces were and how good the finish was on every single piece. It took 3-4 hours to assemble, although 30 minutes of that was removing number stickers which could use a better adhesive to peel them off easier, plus took time to add floor-protectors to bottom pieces. Another gripe would be the middle step of the ladder--is NOT held together by bolts on the ends like the bottom and top step! It is held in by tongue & groove and probably won't ever pop out, but has 'play' in it when my son stands on it. The whole loft has slight movement if you rock it back and forth, but my thinking is that it's designed to be this way (if it were too rigid, it would crack easier). Still a GREAT addition to our son's bedroom! Highly recommended.
