- LONG GRAIN RICE Since 1954 Castor River Farms has been committed to producing high quality food on their rich and healthy soils. With a dedication to soil health, the Hunter family has been recognized as leaders in soil conservation for three generations. Castor River Farms now proudly presents their Long Grain Brown and Long Grain White rice. This rice is grown, milled and packaged on the family farm near Dexter, MO, where their hands-on approach produce a rich healthy product year after year. HEALTHY SOIL Castor River Farms utilizes many techniques to constantly improve their land. Cover Crops grow during the off season to give back to the soil what was taken during harvest. Our farm is NO TILL, which means less compation and less erosion to our most important resource. HEALTHY FOOD Castor River Farms is NO-FLOOD, which means our soils are allowed to function properly vs. underwater for months which is harmful to soil biology. Southeast Missouri State University research shows that rice watered with furrow irrigation contains significantly lower loevels of arsenic than those grown in flooded fields. arsenic than those grown in flooded fields. Instructions
Rinse thoroughly. Bring water to a rapid boil. Slowly add rice. Reduce heat to simmer and cover. Cook 45 minutes or until rice is tender. Remove from heat and let stand 5 minutes, covered. Fluff with fork.
