To fill:Unscrew and remove top nut. Lift off top. Pour in peppercorns or sea salt (do not use salt crystals in your pepper mill.).To adjust:For a fine grind, turn the nut clockwise. For a coarser grind, turn the nut counterclockwise.To operate:Turn the top clockwise.Do not turn back and forth.To clean:Wipe with a dampened cloth or paper towel. Do not immerse in water.

Best Set After Much Searching
I searched the net for days off and on for a pepper mill and salt shaker set. I was very disappointed in what I found. Most were offering the electronic sets which I did not want and the sets the others were either too small, had bad reviews, or they had nothing at all that met my needs. I finally found this set on Walmart.com and knew it was just what I was looking for. It is a beautiful set, just the right height for easy use and the reviews and price were too good to be true compared to what I had seen on other sites. We were pleasantly surprised when it arrived so quickly and the set is beautiful, looks high-end quality. So far, we have had no problems with the pepper grinding mechanism. Actually it has an easy and smooth grind and the salt shaker has the proper sized holes so that it dispenses just right. I am proud to leave this on display on my counter top and very happy with the product. I have bought on Walmart.com several times and so far have not been disappointed. I guess I should have looked there first.
