Extra firm is correct and that is what we wanted after a firm mattress not providing good support after a couple years. Of course, we will have to wait and see how it holds up. The construction says more support in the middle and that is what I need. For comfort we have a basic bed topper and heavy matters cover with some softness. That has worked well for both a heavier and lighter weight person. Great side support and solid construction.

I love this King mattress set!!!! It is 'extremely' firm and that is exactly what I want, and need!! I am absolutely thrilled; I tried to duplicate the firmness of the Queen mattress I've had for years by purchasing another Beautyrest mattress, and while I was a bit nervous about not feeling and touching the mattress prior to purchase, this mattress did not disappoint. With a platform style bed, you don't really 'need' the box springs, but I do like being up high, so I like having them. A++

We love this truly extra firm but very comfortable mattress set. I was afraid it would be too firm for me however, it is not the case. I am having the best sleep of my adult life and I am 70 yrs old. No motion transfer either. We love it. Highly recommend.

Exactly what I was looking for... plush but not soft. Keep in mind delivery date is an estimate. Came a couple of days later than e pected, but delivery company worked with me to schedule a good time and came when promised. Highly reccomend!

Still trying to get used to this extra firm mattress. My husband is happy with this purchase, however, I am the one with more back and neck issues and wanted to get rid of our other mattress, that was just over 3 years old. It was one of the memory foam kind, and was great for about 6 months, but then my back issues got way worse than they ever had. The mattress at that point wasn't supportive enough. Anyway, we didn't go anywhere to test the Beautyrest Silver Charcoal Coast Extra Firm King Mattress...I just placed the order, because I knew I needed the support...but now it's almost too hard. My mistake in not trying to locate one and try it out first, and now we are stuck with it. Like I said, my husband is happy with it, even though he said he still gets hot at night, but not like with the other mattress. We may eventually get a memory foam topper for this bed for my benefit. I hope that it holds up longer than the last one did of only 6 months before we were ready to throw it out.

This mattress is just as it says, extra firm. You don't sink down in it at all. It is comfortable and I love the color. My husband and I have slept on this mattress for 5 days now, he is very happy with it. He would rate it 5 stars. I may have to add a topper to make it a 5 for me. I would highly recommend it especially for people that need to sleep on a very firm mattress. This is the one for you.

Because I've only had it for 1 month, I can only give the mattress set four (4) stars. Check back with me in 6 months or more. Mattress comfort and durability is a test of time thing.

I would have given a 5 stars if I didn't see the minor sewing defect on my new mattress. The seam is opened about 1 inch. Other than that, mattress is good.

I have had this mattress set for less than 1 month and so far I am happy with it. Yes, it is extra firm, but it is not like sleeping on a brick. The top layers of types of foam do have some give and conform a bit to your body. My hope is that these same layers do not become compressed and result in body dents in the mattress. I am a back and side sleeper weighing 215 pounds.
