I've used Madison Reed permanent hair colors many times over four years. It is one of the few brands that covers gray hair. This was my first time using the shade “Pisa” and it looks very natural and dimensional. The shade does not have that bizarre crayon-yellow hue of inexpensive brands. Using the tube of colorant was difficult for me as the cream was thick and difficult to squeeze. There was no chemical smell after the entire process was completed. I also did not have an allergic reaction although I have to other brands. The result is great and I will purchase this brand and this shade of blonde again.

I love having this product at Walmart now. I no longer have to go to a separate store. The quality of color is great and I feel like the product is better for my hair.

I had chosen Madison Reed Permanent Hair Color years ago looking for a dye with less toxic ingredients and not tested on animals. This was it. It is easy to use and smells less (no ammonia) than other brands and does not cause headaches. I do not know if it is the shade I am using but my hair has less shine than it used to have. I am using Barletta Brown. Actually, I do get compliments on how it looks natural with a little red high lights running through. It does cover my stubborn roots. What I do not like is the price and now they increased it by $2 more. Walmart sells it for less so I appreciate it and will continue to buy this from Walmart when it is on sale only. Thank you. This color is very dark. Almost jet black, not a dark brown. Should have gone lighter. Next time going lighter as can get. My son's comment was old lady trying to hard to cover gray... looks as if wearing a wig. This hair color works really well on gray to cover hair grays. And stays on longer than over counter brands. Have tried from least expensive to more pricey brands. MR is by far best even tho you may feel too pricey. Coverage has been good for up to a month on my hair. Definitely worth it.

I was very disappointed in the color. I was hoping it was medium brown but it darkened my medium brown hair black. I read this in the reviews and thought maybe they had bad luck. No. It's very dark brown/black %26 I washed it a few times too.

This color was overpriced and cheap looking wasn't worth $27 in for me. This was old stock! When I poured the tube of color into the developer, the color was red. The color I ordered was a black tone. I shook the bottle for a couple of minutes but it didnt blend well so, I was concerned about the outcome on my hair and didn't use it. I have purchased this color in the past from another vendor and had no problems. I would like to have my money refunded but the only way to get it is to send the partially used and used items back...not realistic.

First off it did not color my gray hair and I don't even have a a lot of gray, I only have strands of gray and it didn't color those I took it to my hairdresser and she did it professionally, but it didn't come out at all and then the color I wanted to get two different colors in my hair, but they all they were both the same color even though they said they weren't but they were. I didn't like it at all. It was overpriced and it did absolutely nothing.

I did a complete full color it was easy to put on.I did a strand test before, unfortunately, the strand test was lighter than the color that my hair turned out to be It was much darker as much than I expected. The one thing I can say is it did completely cover my gray. I am very unhappy with the outcome after using the try it on feature I went with what I thought was going to be the light golden blonde, according to the quiz it said it would not work for me, not knowing how to choose I took the color that was suggested. My hair is not a dull ashy color that I am very unhappy with, I provided pictures of my natural hair, the try it on feature and the final out come. Unfortunately I am unable to correct my color without further damage to my hair.
