Microwave: Microwave Cooking Directions (It is recommended that only 1 cup rice be prepared in the microwave at a time. Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate). 1. In a 2 quart microwave-safe dish combine 2 cups water and 1 cup rice (Add 1 Tbsp butter and 1 tsp sale per cup of uncooked rice, if desire). 2. Cover and microwave high for 5 minutes. Reduce setting to 50% power, microwave for 15 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes. Cooking Directions On The Stove: 1. In saucepan, bring water to a boil (Cooking Measurement Chart: For drier rice use 1/4 cup less water. For moister rice, use 1/4 cup more water. Rice: 1 cup; Water: 2 cups; Makes: 3 cups; Servings (3/4 Cup Cooked): 4. Rice: 2 cups; Water: 4 cups; Makes: 6 cups; Servings (3/4 Cup Cooked): 8. Rice: 3 cups; Water: 6 cups; Makes: 9 cups; Servings (3/4 Cup Cooked): 12). 2. Stir in rice (Add 1 tbsp butter and 1 tsp salt per cup of uncooked rice, if desired). 3. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until all water is absorbed.

Very nice rice. The taste and texture are excellent. I recommend doing your own research about different types of rice and the distinctively different textures, aromas, and applications. This organic Mahatma rice is a favorite of mine, since I prefer the long grains. Due to all rice having questionable water sources--which are not monitored for arsenic and other heavy metals--I prefer to limit rice meals.
