Starbucks Caffe Verona Ground Coffee Dark

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose this coffee because it is a Dark roast. It is easier on my stomach than medium roasts. The flavor profile boasts dark cocoa and caramelized sugar, which goes great with chocolate, but I think it compliments other sweets such as mexican shortbread cookies, and oatmeal raison cookies. I enjoyed this coffee in the morning and after dinner with dessert #freesample.

There's a noticeable roasted intensity right up front, but it's not harsh. It leans more toward a smooth, full-bodied scent with hints of cocoa and a subtle nuttiness underneath. You get that classic bold coffee backbone, but it's layered. There's a gentle bitterness that feels intentional, balanced by a soft, almost velvety undertone that rounds everything out.
