Superior Quality ~ Highly recommended

If I could offer a ten star rating on the Hex Clad Pan Fryer, I would. The first thing I noticed when I took the pan out of it's box, was the nice weight to the pan, this is no flimsy product. The 7 quart pan offers a 13" diameter with an approximate depth of 3.5". The glass lid is well made with a steam vent and also has a very nice weight to it. All handles stayed cool to the touch as I cooked. The pan does come with instructions for first use; you must clean and season your pan prior to use, which is true of any well made cookware. The only question I had regarding the pan was, why, after washing and seasoning, did I wind up with black grime on my paper towel (as shown in photo). I proceeded to fry up some chicken, using a bit too much oil, but that was user error. As you can see in the photos, the battered chicken turned out a beautiful golden color; nice and crisp with no overly greasy/oily taste. Absolutely nothing stuck to pan, which made clean up a breeze! It may sound silly, but if you want to invest in well made cookware, such as this Hex Clad pan, read up a little on how to care for cookware, learn why some foods stick, it's not necessarily the pans' fault, it might just be the cooks'. I expect, as I take good care of this pan, it will last many years; my new favorite cookware!

If I can only buy 1 pan, this would be it

I've had this pan a couple of weeks and have wanted to put it to the test. We cook all meals at home, so this has seen many dishes in its short life already. I must say, it has out performed any pot or pan I've ever owned and if I had to choose just 1 piece of cookware, this would be it. From stir-fry to spaghetti and asparagus stuffed chicken breasts to a pot of chili, oh and even some baked rolls, this pot has done it all. I have an electric cooktop, just for reference. But this pan absolutely cooks the most evenly of any pan I've tried. I don't know how it works but it does. Frying chicken can be tricky with most pans on a Ln electric cooktop because some parts just don't get hot enough. This pan, the whole bottom fried the chicken evenly and at the same time. It was like magic was happening that I've never seen before. It made it crispy and perfect. The stuffed chicken was finished in the oven at 400° and the pan did beautifully. The glass lid is a heavy duty glass that helps seal in steam to keep the chicken tender and juicy. The hybrid technology is outstanding. Stainless steel is the way to go because it contains less toxins than traditional non stick cookware. But unless you know how to cook with stainless, it can become a nightmare. This has taken the stress out of stainless cooking. I also love they continue the diamond hexclad on the bottom which helps hide the black ring from the cooktop. I have yet to try metal utensils because I don't want to damage this but they say it is safe to do. I have also only hand washed with soap and water but clean up is so easy because of the non stick surface there really is no need to run through a dishwasher. I also want to maintain the seasoning in the bottom, so I gently wash and dry to allow it to season deeper, just like a cast iron skillet. This is honestly the best of both worlds. Stainless and cast iron combined in a sense. The size of this pan can be used for so many dishes, you really don't need many other options. So if you are going to spend the money, buy a good one. Buy this one!

Gorgeous!

This is really high end cookware! It’s a nonstick hexagonal surface inside. This roaster/fryer is heavy but not near as heavy as iron. It is expensive but so we’ll made. I love glass tops so you can see how things are going. I use it for making roasts with potatoes and carrots, mushrooms and celery. I used to use a deep spaghetti pot, now I can spread out the veggies in a more uniform way. I also can now take advantage of whole chicken prices as well. Such an unusual shape and size since most pots are either smallish sauce pans or super deep spaghetti pots. This fryer pan truly is made for roasting or deep frying. Actually, it would be great for regular frying as well since the higher sides would keep the grease from splattering everywhere. This is really an amazing size pan to have that I’ve never really seen before. The pan cleans really easily, and truly is nonstick. I’m going to have to get more of these type pans.
