once upon a time I must have had five nice butter dishes but somehow or another they have disappeared. I have moved twice since I last saw them all. I hired professional movers to move me from Michigan to Missouri and I cannot tell you how many things I am missing. but I also did not realize how expensive nice butter dishes have gotten. currently I do not have a car but when I get one I will be going to every yard sale and auction and estate auction Etc that I can find because I prefer to find older butter dishes to use. this butter dish is beautiful it holds half a pound which is wonderful the only issue I have with it is that the butter does slip and slide around in it a little bit but I solved that problem by cutting small pieces of parchment paper and putting under the butter. it is a beautiful butter dish that even if it didn't have butter in it I would love sitting it on my counter. my entire home is furnished in vintage and antique type things. It just fits right in. but I think it would fit into almost anybody's decor if they love pretty things. enjoy it for its beauty
