Simply the best ever!

Since I have homes in 3 states, I have Miele canister vacuums with the power carpet cleaning attachment and I love them. Powerful but adjustable suction for heavy to light jobs. Super quiet considering the power; I originally purchased one for my son and DIL when my first grandchild arrived as he's always been quite sensitive to sound as are most babies. Have been sold on them since. Using anything else makes me feel like I'm not getting the floors or dusty furniture as clean as I can. Excellent air filtration as well.
