Does the job quickly.

I wanted something that could boil the water in it very quickly. You need at least 1,500 watts for that. This unit will boil water very quickly, so it is perfectly powered for it. The quality appears good, but only time will tell for sure. I have not had a lot of luck with electric kettles for the last 10 years or so. So I bought the warranty just to be on the safe side. It does the job of boiling a liter of water in just a few minutes. And it looks good on our counter.

Turn it on, it heats the water, it turns off. We live at altitude, so anything with a thermostat gets confused by our low boiling point. This one needs no twiddling, it makes no beeps, it just works. The lid only opens 45 degrees, so to clean it you must follow their directions. The cord is a bit stiff because it is built to last.
