No overflow of coffee because the cover or lid has a small steam release hole next to the glass knob. I only put 11 cups of cold water for perculating . After cooling and removel of the basket, I then added more water to the 12 cup line. This gives me 6-7 oz coffee for 12-8 days daily with my microwave. My hazelnut choice doesn't match my wife's. Cleaning the Coletti 12 cup pot every 12-6 days beats a electrical perculator. this

Fantastic product, reminds me of my childhood

I missed the flavor of percolator coffee. First I bought an electric perk, but not what I was hoping for. So I got this %26 voila this was it. Great tasting coffee, a great quality pot %26 from a veteran owned company. I'm in love with this thing.

A perfect cup of coffee every time

I've had this coffeepot for about 10 days and use it daily. It makes an excellent cup of coffee, far superior to the old drip makers. *How I use this coffee pot* I usually make coffee the night before and keep it overnight in a thermos. This way I don't feel pressured to hurry. In the instructions that came with the pot, Coletti recommends keeping the water line below the pour spout to prevent the pot from boiling over and making a mess. Because my kitchen tends to be cold, I'll begin by running the glass knob under warm water to avoid shocking it (which would increase the risk of cracking). I use my leftover drip coffeemaker filters, trimmed to fit which also helps keep the grounds from slipping through the holes in the sides of the basket. Once the pot begins to boil, I'll gradually turn down the flame, keeping the pot at a steady gentle boil. After about ten minutes I shut off the heat and let it set a moment before opening the percolator and carefully removing the lid of the basket. Once the basket has completely drained, I remove it and add the remaining amount of water (up to the 12-cup line). It's important to note that the lid of the percolator rests on the lid of the basket, so if you don't want to hold the lid open while pouring, replace the basket lid before closing the percolator lid. After all that I will set a small sieve over the opening of my thermos and slowly pour the coffee. Then I will immediately rinse everything, using a brush for metal straws to clean out the stem to prevent oils from collecting.
