Very cool layers to this build

Upon completion the pyramid was too deep for the shelves on which the other Architecture pieces are displayed. So, I redesigned the riverbank to pull about 2" off without redoing the whole thing or adding more bricks. The mortuary temple and boats became a stand-alone piece. The friends I shared the build progress with thought the layers of 'in progress', 'complete' and 'what's inside' were a very cool way to add depth to the build.

Top Giza

An interesting addition to the Architecture range. It was a good idea to set the build as it was at the time of construction,if only the Coliseum set could have been treated the same way.I felt that the price was very fair for such a Set.The build is difficult but rewarding and,the advantage of building a Pyramid is that, eventually, you can see the point.

Customisable

A few people are complaining that it is only half a pyramid - but it clearly states that in the descriptions. When I first saw this model, I decided that I wanted a complete pyramid - and went about finding how I could turn this into what I wanted. I downloaded the building instructions before the model was delivered. I could see how easy it would be to extend the white outer shell into a complete shell, but the base was more complicated. At first, I didn't want to buy a second set, because then I would have all the extra bits for the Nile, and to the East of the pyramid. Also, I would still have to buy extra parts to link the two parts of the outer shell together. I would also have to build the second inner core in reverse, or the hidden passages and chambers wouldn't line up. I still haven't finished building this to my satisfaction, but I will probably buy a second set, and a few extra parts. My model will then have a complete outer shell (that can be lifted in one piece). Once lifted, the inner core can then be pulled apart to show the hidden details. To the West side of the pyramid there will only be the white wall, and the sand swirls same as those North and South of the original model. Oh, and I intend putting the name plates on the South side, with the model being viewed from the South. When I have completed it, I intend posting some photo's here. One of the main reasons for providing this review, before I have completed the model, is to point out that you don't have to build a model exactly as per the instructions. If you don't like it, then change it, and make it your own design.

Thank you for your review. We encourage our fans to get creative and build or adjust their sets to their wishes. For extra parts, you can refer to the back of the building instructions for the part numbers and purchase additional ones using the Pick A Brick service at LEGO.build/PAB-BV. There's also the option to buy a second model to complete the entire pyramid. The world's your oyster, good luck!
