After soaking these in water overnight, I put them in a crockpot for 4 hrs. The smell, taste, and texture of these are perfect. I eat very healthy, and with the high protein content, which is more than most meats, this is great for anyone who needs more. I highly recommend this food.

If you've only ever had canned chickpeas, you're missing out. Chickpeas cooked at home at so much better. They don't have that canned food taste, and they can be cooked to the desired texture. The chickpeas from Organic Tattva made for a great cooking and eating experience. The dried chickpeas arrived in a vacuum-sealed pack, keeping them fresh and clean during shipping. The chickpeas all appeared to be about the same size, making it easier to cook them without having to worry about some chickpeas being over or under cooked. I made the chickpeas in my pressure cooker for easy cooking and clean up, and they turned out great. I cooked them a little extra so that they were on the softer side, but they still had a nice, slightly firm texture to them. They tasted pleasant and fresh on their own, especially with some seasonings sprinkled over top. I also blended them to make some plant-based cookie dough. They blended to a smooth paste that made for a thick, creamy treat. In all actuality, I'm not sure that there is a huge taste difference between these and other dried chickpeas. Maybe a food connoisseur would be able to tell the difference better than I could. What really stood out to me with these chickpeas wasn't just their flavor (even though they did taste really good), but how they were grown and packaged. They were made using sustainable farming and met a lot of quality and hygiene standards. Whether or not you care about organic farming, I think that it is reassuring to know that the people who grew the chickpeas cared about the process of growing and harvesting them. All too often, when buying products, it's not easy to know anything about where or how the products were made or grown. If you like to know something about where your food comes from, this might make for a better choice for you.
