I thought this would be a loud piece of cheap plastic. Though it is kind of plastic like, it doesn't make as much noise as people have said in reviews. The noise it makes (if it makes any) doesn't affect the sleeper because a pillow is more than enough insulation between the sound and the sleeper. I needed this in a pinch, but I think it will work for a while. Already had it put to use and it cleaned up great, didn't cause any damage to the mattress under it. Its protection you can depend on when you need it and it won't make the person in bed feel self-conscious.

More plastic than I thought it would be, but with a sheet on it, the noise level is slim to none. It went on a thinner than expected mattress so I can't really rate the fit, but it appeared to be sized good for a normal thickness mattress. Overall a good protector.
