Fellowes 8MC Shredder-LX41 8 Sheet Micro Cut Paper Shredder

This is not your industrial-shred-50-pages-at-a-time shredder. I have one of those already. This shredder is a micro shredder. If you are shredding items that you absolutely don't want to be read again this is the best option. It cuts everything into tiny pieces. It is also very quiet when it runs. It is perfect for shredding unwanted credit card offers and old financial records or ID docs. Because it shreds into such tiny particles its bin holds quite a lot. And the bin has a see through window so you can easily see when it needs to be emptied. It is dark and sleek in design and so is unobtrusive in your office. It is described as medium duty as it can shred 8 pages at a time for 5 minutes straight and then requires a 30 minute cool down. I like that there is a lock button so if you have little ones around they can't “accidentally” turn on the shredding blades. Nice machine.

I have had a Fellowes shredder before and it lasted for years. I wanted to buy another one to replace it that has the micro-cut P4 security level. This Fellowes shredder has it and also I like the fact that it is small enough to put away in a utility closet when finished using. It has ample capacity for shredding, for intermittent use at home.
