This is great for short people! I'm 5 foot 1 inch tall and can easily hinge at my hips over this pad unlike some commercial gym hyper extension machines. The hip pad could be more comfortable but it's not terrible, it's okay to me because it's for exercise after all. Took me about one hour to put together, relatively straightforward instructions with pictures. I'd say it's pretty sturdy if you tighten everything completely. Mine doesn't rock side to side like another review mentioned. Came with everything except you need a screw driver
