First confirm whether the receiver and remote control are out of power. Confirm whether the receiver and remote channel are correct, If the receiver is paired with channel 1, the remote can only work with channel 1. If the above two points do not work, it is recommended to re-pair the collar and try again. For shock mode not working or unstable:
Skin contact is critic a for the shock mode to function effectively. When using shock mode. make sure the metal tip is in direct contact wits the skin under the dog's neck. Adjust the collar length to what is most comfortable for your dog. Check the tightness of the Collar by inserting one finger between the collar and neck. If your dog's hair is long and dense, use long contact points and make sure they are in direct contact with your dog's skin. Each dog has different tolerance levels, The shock mode has 0-99 levels, You can adjust the level according to your dog's reaction. Function keys or knobs do not work: Please check whether the remote control is locked and make sure it is unlocked before operating the buttons or knobs.

Good training collar for the money...so far.
This is my third training collar. The first one I bought was from a big name sporting goods store, it cost over one hundred dollars and lasted for approximately four months. I thought the quality was good, and it had a range of around one mile, but it should have lasted longer for the money spent. My second purchase was from a large online retailer, the cost was under thirty dollars . The quality was good, it had a range of around one mile, but it quit working after less than two weeks. So far this training collar seems to be made well and of good quality. I particularly like the lighting system on the collar, it helps keep track of my dog when out at night. What I'm trying to get at is that the old saying "you get what you pay for" doesn't necessarily apply when it comes to dog training collars...only time will tell if this one was a good purchase or not.

Good design, taught my dog.
Intuitive easy to use design, USB charging so no batteries. It is NOT a bark collar, that automatically corrects the dog, I did not want that. It is a remote that corrects by vibration, sound or shock. Easy to set levels of correction. I used 50% level shock and in a one event 3 shock session I taught my 100lb Great Pyrenees to come inside when called. She is coming with no shock now so the effect of a zap from above is a strong one.

Overall, a decent electronic collar. I've had several of these types in the past, and this one is the best. Watch the "shock" output. I had it on high, and it put my Husky on his knees. The range is very good, and it has been durable so far. I've dropped the handheld several times, and the collar has been through snow, rain, mud, etc, with no issues. You know how it goes with things like this, though; some are good, some not so good. I guess I got lucky with this particular unit.
