Nothing beats Masterpiece Max and 3000 Calorie
I've been using these two products for 20 years. I've bought so many other brands over the years, both cheap and expensive, and have always thrown them out after trying them because these are a million times better. I constantly receive compliments on my lashes - even with so many girls having lash extensions these days. I do one layer of Masterpiece Max to define and separate, and then one layer of 2000 Calorie for volume.
Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara
I love this mascara and have had a hard time finding it for a few years. I am so happy to see it available again. It is my very favorite. It is the only one I have ever used that doesn't smudge all over my face.
Your Mum's Mascara?
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mascara has been around forever, so I thought it must be a classic for a reason! Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The packaging is simple but the gold lettering is nice. The wand is standard and the formula seems fine, a bit chunky on the wand but it applied ok, it wasn't clumpy or anything. However, I felt it had a bit of a chemically smell, so I wouldn't recommend it for sensitive eyes (or noses). It claims to be a full-volume mascara but I really had to apply quite a few layers to build up some volume. Even using a lash curler, I felt it didn't hold a curl. It does add a decent amount of length though. It lasted pretty well throughout the day and was easy to remove. I think for the price point there are much better mascaras on the market. It reminded me of something I'd find in my Mum's make-up bag, a classic brand that gives a little colour and length. It's not something I'd buy myself but it was nice to try!
