Pretty thin but seams sturdy enough. The material hasn't worn or fallen out after a few months of heavy use. This was put in the playroom to be used as a toy rug for the road and has been as expected. The colors are cute, the size was perfect and happy with the quality. It isn't soft but I didn't expect it to be, since we planned to use it for cars.
