Same synthetic handle material, such as Delrin or G10, (on my expensive chef knives) which is known for its durability, water resistance, and ease of maintenance. They came with plastic tip guards. These should last you a lifetime if taken care of. Hard to believe these knives are only $4.00 a piece.
