Read the directions carefully and it works as stated it says not to use a plastic bag in the receptacle but did not give a reason why. Every paper shredder I have ever used I put a plastic bag in it. I found that it was very messy to dump the micro shredded paper into another receptacle to dispose of.as it tends to fly everywhere. I have only used it a few days but have had no issues.

I Purchased this new shredder to replace my old one that stopped working. So far I like this one very much it's easy to use it's quiet and even though some have complained about the opening I find it great I don't read that many sheets of paper at a time anyway maybe three or four and it's great I definitely would purchase it again.
