Works well

Works well to remove weeds and their roots with almost no struggle. You don't have to put your body behind it to get into the ground. Unless the ground is dry it slides right in. I do a little turn and twist then it comes right out. It holds it to get it to the bag or bin to dispose of it and you just hit the ejection button and there it goes no struggle. Probably one of the easiest ways to get rid of weeds without chemicals. The holes are small and expected, a little stomping the loose ground back covers it right up.

A must have for lawn care

My neighbor introduced me to this product, and once I tried it I had to have my own. There are others on the market but I believe this is the best one. I like that it is a twist method and not a lever method, it will save the back. The eject button on top next to hand position is ideal, others have it at the bottom of the shaft. Not as good in my option, and the weight, its so light you would think its flimsy, but its not, its very strong and should last forever if treated right. Also its not advertised as a aerator, but the hole it leaves behind is not as wide as others so it doubles as a aerator.

How did I live without this thing?

Seriously. I was killing my back and knees pulling weeds on the ground and this has been a godsend. Just stab it in at the center (taproot) of your weed, step on the foot press to get it in deep, make a couple of full rotations of the handle until you feel the root release or hear a snap, and lift it out. Makes a much smaller, cleaner hole than using a hand-weeder or horihori, only about an inch and a half across, and if you press the button on top of the handle it pushes the weed out of the claws for you. No bending at all! Tall weeds are harder, but mine handled an overgrown 3ft bull thistle taproot just fine after cutting the stalk to the ground first. My only complaints are that the handles are unpadded and not very ergonomic, so after a couple hours weeding my backyard I got blisters on both thumbs. And if you're not careful where your hands are and you press the release button, the bottom edges of the button are rather sharp and can scrape the skin on your hand. Adding your own grip tape and using thicker gloves would solve these though. The plastic foot press also feels a little flimsy to me, but if you moisten the soil first or weed after it rains you can pretty much push it in with just the handles. All in all a great purchase. Made my yard work much quicker and easier.
