Another great razor from the minds of Remington!

If you’re a newbie in the world of electric razors, please understand your skin will need to slowly adapt itself for this type of usage; which usually takes about 2 weeks. Since this particular Remington model is a ‘foil shaver’ and not a ‘rotary shaver’; briefly allow me to explain the differences between the two. Foil shavers use perforated steel foils that have oscillating blades concealed underneath. These foils are designed to lift hair toward the blades providing a close shave. Rotary shavers use circular spinning blades which flex, some say these types do a better job in following facial contours however, this is very much a wide and opinionated subject, it really all comes down to personal preference. Now, let us cover my favorite selling points for this razor and why it earns 5 stars. 1. Comes with a limited two – year warranty. 2. 30 day money back guarantee if not satisfied. 3. Unit can be used wet/dry in the shower. 4. Whatever your preference gel/foam either or can be applied. 5. Shaves incredibly close and comfortable on a totally dry face! This Remington XF8550 is undoubtedly one awesome razor! After shaving with it for the very first time without the use of either water or shaving cream I can honestly say: It shaves just as close if not closer, than my safety razor/standard non – disposable manual one. Easy to use

This electric shaver is great if your looking for a quick shave. The shaver doesn't give as close as a shave as a normal razor but it is very quick. Unfortunately since since it doesn't give a very close shave you will notice stubble the next day, unlike a razor which you can go two or three days before needing a shave again. The shaver is waterproof and can be used in the shower but it did not work as well for me using it wet as just using it dry, though i only used water and didn't use any cream. The shaver i receiver was charged so it was ready to use right out of the box. The shaver comes with a carry bag to hold everything and the charging stand folds up around the shaver to save space and protect it. The shavers pop out trimmer is great for trimming side burns and long beards. If your going to spend the money on an electric shaver this should be the one. Ive had other electric shavers in the past that just don't stand up to this one. By far the best electric shaver ive owned and the most expensive.

What A Great Change in Razors!

I have always been a Triple Head shaver. I have used this type of razor for 20 + years so when I decided I wanted to try this type of new razor I was not sure what to expect. The Remington SmartEdge Foil Shaver is GREAT! I love the high tech color and design. But just because it looks great, that doesn't mean it is going to perform as a good razor. The Foil Screan shaving head has a pivitol rotation which makes it easy for hard to get at areas on the face. I love the recharging cradle that the razor comes with...and don't forget to charge it the obligatory 24 hours! It is easy to clean...a brush is provided. has a travel pouch. It can be used wet or dry...in or out of the shower. I actually use a small amount of hydrating shave oil to prep the skin and then I start with the razor...give it about a minute to soften the beard. This is an exceptional razor at an exceptional price. You will love it. Good luck!
