i wish i could suggest turtle beach as good cheap headphones for hearing footsteps in games but TB literally break right out of the box... everything on TB besides the speakers themselves are made to break joke compamy. Meanwhile at a higher price range you can get these great quality headphones for PC. Notice you see nobody on here talking about what these headphones are actually made for and are probably expecting a more well rounded headphone i.e. multipurpose or just having a sound more matched to music, movies, dev intended game sound etc etc. Maybe keep looking if any of those are what you're looking for.

Flat response producing excellent aural imaging.

This is my second pair to be used for broadcast music production as a Jazz program host. A warhorse, though the blue "Professional" lettering has worn away, my initial pair have lasted 10+ years without the fraying or cracking of the headband. I just swapped out the leatherette ear covers for cloth. (The old ones will serve for nighttime TV listening.)
