I assembled it myself over a weekend. Its possible to do it yourself, you just have to think outside the box and mainly assemble the upper units piece by piece rather than in 1 unit and lift into place. Overall I would give the directions a 9/10, there were a few directions that had me stumped so I had to back a few times. I will say my biggest complaint was that its made of press board and the veneer does show some saw marks. I will say its extremely unlikely you are ever going to move these units once they are installed and they really aren't designed to ever be moved. I just think for the price using real plywood which is much stronger would have been nice. Overall though the units do look good installed A few of the plastic pieces broke during install and I don't think it was me overtightening the screws. Some wood glue fixed those issues

I bought this piece and another on the site to turn a small bedroom in my house to a closet. This was hard to assemble. I am a 6' female who is fit and strong, and my boyfriend, who helped, is 6'4" and a muscular guy. The two of us found it a challenge. The instructions say 2 people but I'm not sure how 2 people smaller than us would have got together. It's all good; we got it done. The most disappointing part is once the sections are assembled they do not align, the heights are different and it is very obvious. I ended up leaving each section with about 6 inches in between because, at least this way, it looks ok, and someone cannot so obviously notice that sections are not aligned. So that looks ok now which is why I'm giving a 2 star. Just find it frustrating that the height with the different sections is so off and not as the pictures. I'm not returning it and did not bother writing the company bc it was so hard to assemble in the first place. I'm not taking it apart and reboxing it... even if I was allowed a refund.
