We bought both our kids Striders at the same time. They are 17 months apart, but both learned how to ride quickly. My son was able to ride a pedal bike at 2 years old and my daughter was 3. I can't encourage you enough to buy one of these bikes if you have a child who doesn't know how to ride a bike or has never tried to ride a bike. We also love the snow skis you can purchase for winter. The Strider made the transition on their dirt bikes easier, as well. My kids are now 7 & 9, yet still love to have fun on their Striders. We had to purchase the taller seat, but it was well worth it. I am hoping to get a grant to get Striders for the elementary school where I work. Riding a bike is a fundamental skill and will provide a healthier option for kids. Do your little one a favor and purchase a Strider bike. There are many other balance bikes out there, but none as durable, reliable, or easy to use as a Strider.

We bought our son a strider for his 2nd birthday. After a little practice he was gliding around all over the place. His 6 year old brother just learned to ride a bike without trainers...the hardest part was the balance. One day I got a wild hair and decided to see if his little brother could try on his smaller bike. He literally rode within a couple and is riding all over the place. He just turned three and has been riding a full on bike now for about a month...I am amazed at what Strider has done for kids!
