Pecan Wood Chips

I used a mix of water soaked Cowboy Apple and Pecan Wood Chips scattered throughout my lump charcoal when smoking racks of ribs. I added a few small handfuls to the coals when I spritzed and that was enough smoke for the ribs to get that great smoky flavor.

Great product!!

Most chips you put on the pit are ok, but to not only taste the pecan, the smell of pecan fills the air. It's not overwhelming or powerful, just the fight amount to make your bbq have that pecan taste. Most people pay a lot of money for pecan wood, these chips are the same and not so expensive. Great product Cowboy Charcoal.

Great fish tacos

Cowboy Pecan wood chips are awesome! I used them over the weekend to blacken/smoke/grill Mahi-Mahi fillets for fish tacos. I applied a liberal amount of olive oil to my fillets before sprinkling them with blackening seasoning While building a small fire using Cowboy hardwood lump charcoal. Once my coals were ready and the grates were hot, I added my water soaked Pecan chips to the coals. When the smoke started rolling I slammed my fillets over the coals to absorb the subtle flavor from the pecan chips. When my fillets were almost finished I moved them off the coals to finish absorbing the smokeyness flavor of the pecan chips. I've got to say the pecan chips added a Smokey southwest flare to the tacos. These were the best tacos I've ever fixed and it was due to the Cowboy Pecan wood chips. They are awesome! Try'em, you'll like'em!
