Those who have stated it is too small should have read the description. I'm not sure what they expected because it is exactly what is described. It works well for my needs. I use it mainly to shred mail. I can sit at my desk or on my bed and shred away. I generally remove private information if not too much of it, then shred it and throw the rest in the garbage. If using my larger shredder, I still do the same in order to keep from having to empty it too often. Someone said it does not shred 8.5x11" paper when folded. It certainly does shred that size paper when folded in landscape or portrait. It also handled an old credit card. This LITTLE shredder works well for me. Keep in mind it is 9.8x7.6x6.5", weighs 6.26 lbs, and has a .7 gal (2.5L as shown on the basket) wastebasket.
