Instructions
Pour the sand into a shallow receptacle for the sole purpose of obtaining one urine sample, let your cat get familiar with it, wait for it to go on the litter, the urine will stay on top, you can then obtain the sample with the included pipette and vial. The sand in this bag is for collecting one urine sample. Do not reuse Kit4Cat. Plastic bags can be dangerous. To avoid suffocation, keep away from babies and children. Do not eat Kit4Cat. Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.

At first my cat did not want to use this, but I set up her regular litter box and then another small litter box with this sand in it. Because she's finicky, she decided to try it out since I was disrupting her normal area in the bathroom cleaning. I had the litter box with the sand and another room and she wanted the peace and quiet and tried it. It worked great!

Hydroponic sand works well. We have a diabetic cat. We are able to check his for ketones and excess glucose in his urine easily. Also, easy to pour urine out and use sand more than once. No sure if that is medically recommended, but seems to work for us.
