Hummingbird water storage

I use 7-8 Sterlite 1 gallon pitchers from April through September to store my Hummingbird water. I once bought another brand but they didn't fit well in the refrigerator. I buy the 6 count case and give one to folks trying to feed hummingbirds. I make 5 gallons of bird water about every three days. Needless to say these are the only pitchers I use. Thanks

Good deal but needs functional improvement

PROS: --A great value for a set of 6 --It does hold a gallon--but just barely. --Things in contact with any liquid can be taken apart to be cleaned, so there's no place for bacteria to hide. --It's not just for water. You can transfer milk/juice straight into it and not have to clean store-bought containers (yes, I do feel a need to do this during the pandemic) CONS: --Some of them--not just one-- came defective, with bubbling in the plastic, near the top of the handle. --The biggest nuisance was in the way that the spout was designed. Although it is curved to contain and control the liquid as you pour, there is no tilt-back angling or sloping in the spout, which results in puddling of the liquid that just sits there at the mouth. Now even if you close the opening, this little puddle will spill if you tilt the pitcher as you carry it back to the fridge. I tilted the pitcher, trying to make the puddle go back inside or else pour it into my cup, but couldn't get it to satisfactorily go away. This is a problem mentioned by another reviewer. Sterilite needs to adjust the design of the spout by angling it instead of having it come straight out from the pitcher's body, because having to wipe off the liquid each and every time you use the pitcher is a big pain. --Another problem others have mentioned is the splattering issue. I have found this to be true when you flip the open-flap to pour or to close. The only way to minimize this problem is to very slowly and gingerly flipping the top. I'll leave the redesign ideas up to the Sterilite folks. I hope they read reviews. --One pitcher was slightly leaking out of the tightly closed lid.
