Safer than most thermometers!

I prefer this little no frills thermometers over the fancy ones. They are more consistent and more accurate. I really like that the battery cap is hard to get off on this one, because I always about my little one getting ahold of it and swallowing the little battery! I tried to get it off and couldn't. I could have tried harder but I figured my little ones aren't going to have more strength than I put in. I'll definitely be buying more of these! I like to have a few thermometers around because I have a large family and the older kids like to keep one in their room when they are sick.
