This knife caught my eye on the website. I was looking for an easy knife for everyday carry. My previous EDC was a Leatherman Skeletool. I love it but it's too bulky, especially when wearing a suit. I received the Slimjim and was surprised how slim it was. Perfect for carrying every day. I love the design and the assisted opening. A couple of things to note. The safety knob is annoying. I wish it wasn't there. I don't think it's needed. It moves close to the lock position on its own while carrying sometimes and I have to always check to see if it is on the open side. The one-handed opening takes some getting used to. It's not so easy right away. I think it's because the knife is so slim and hard to get the right grip to open. However, once you get used to it you develop a good technique to open. I have no issues now.

This is my second one, the first one just wore out after many years of every day carry. The most comfortable and best EDC knife I have ever carried. I have carried A knife for over fifty years and this is the best. It is so thin you hardly know it is there and retains it edge for many uses before it needs honed.

Great back up carry blade!
I received my slimjim last week and absolutely love it!! Very intelligent design, very functional and extremely discrete for easy concealment. I use the slimjim as my backup "gentlemen carry" knife to my other SOG full size tanto points. As a general point, I have become a huge fan of SOG. Their blades are superior and their customer service is as responsive as their open assist.
