Acer Chromebook Spin 11 CP311-1H-C1FS Convertible Laptop, Celeron N3350, 11.6" HD Touch, 4GB DDR4, 32GB eMMC

This is our first chromebook. First the exterior is much nicer and detailed than I expected. Beautiful silver etched top. It's the perfect size for your lap, but not too small either. I like how it turns on as soon as opening. You can use it as a traditional laptop with the keyboard, or you can the touch screen function which is what sets this chromebook above the rest. If you want to you can even fold the screen completely backwards and use it as a large touch screen tablet. When you have it opened like that the keyboard is deactivated so you don't accidentally press a key. Very handy. It's also great for streaming with the included wifi using the youtube or netflix apps. You can even fold the screen halfway and prop it up like a book to save space and let it stand on your table. As far as features, it's more user friendly than a traditional laptop as everything is done with apps which can be accessed through touch screen or the keyboard and mouse pad. I haven't used a chromebook before so I was unable to find specs about the processing speed, but seems to run fast enough. It even has a built in camera for use with webcam apps like skype, facebook chat, etc. I installed the Painter app to fully test the touchscreen function. I didn't have a stylus, but from what I can tell the screen isn't capable of pressure sensitivity, but worked nicely with the app anyway. No discernable lag or jitteriness. Nice smooth strokes that follow your finger. I think this would work really well for most casual uses like web browsing, streaming, basic word processing using apps, etc. I don't think it would work that well for more intensive uses like editing large video projects or programs like Photoshop, premiere pro, and other adobe software which is what I use my desktop for primarily. Regardless of the more limited functions, I would really recommend this for users that have very basic needs, people who are comfortable with phone/app navigation, or technology challenged individuals that need something super simple and easy to understand. Between the ease of use with the apps, the fast boot time, long battery life, and large touch screen, my kids or grandma could use this easily . Seems to be a great product as far as build and use.

This is such a great little laptop. It has taken me a bit to get used to it being a Chrome Book and not a traditional laptop but I am starting to get the hang of it. The strangest thing is that you can't put files on the desktop but you can still save them on the device. Being able to flip it into a tablet is a really cool feature. I love the touchscreen the best though, you can use it no matter what "mode" you are using the laptop in. You basically download apps that you can run or use Google Chrome to browse the internet. The Chrome book is really sleek and light making it super easy to carry around. It powers on super fast and keeps it battery pretty long. I am on day 3 after charging it to full power. If I could change one thing about it that would be that it had a backlit keyboard but I know that that is a special feature on higher up models. If you are looking for a simple laptop that you casually use this is the perfect one for you. But, if you are looking to use for school work, your job, or something like photo editing I don't think this has all the capabilities you will need. Overall, I am very impressed with the speed, customization, and battery life of this Chrome Book.
