Better Idea on Traditional Carpenters Pencil
I always struggle with using a marker for wood working. Round pencils have soft lead and break easily and need frequent sharpening, flat carpenter pencils are also hard to maintain a thin line without sharpening often and require a razor knife to sharpen. These mechanical carpenter pencils are flat so don't roll away and have hard, ever sharp (mostly) leads that last and produce a narrow sharp line. Just insert a new lead in the top of the pencil which pushes the old used lead out and gives a new fresh pencil edge. Used leads can be sharpened with sand paper later. The Harder lead lasts longer as well. I like.

Carpenter Pencil
Very nice heavy duty plastic capenter pencil, 2 in package with 8 replacement tips. You can mark with a thin or thick line depending upon how you hold the pencil. The barrel is fairly substantial with a tip protector which would appear to last a long time in tool box or pocket.
