Have now washed both mats a couple times and they've maintained their color and size well, with no annoying ruffling caused by different weave in different areas. in other words, they lie flat. Their thickness is sufficient to absorb drips from my wet feet and body after a shower, which I believe is why they were designed. They dry quickly despite being cotton. I don't understand how people can use synthetic towels and mats because those fibers do not absorb moisture but only move it around. Cotton remains the gold standard for absorbency. Very pleased with these mats and will buy again if i have room. COLOR. I think it was listed as red but it's almost burgundy, which is what I wanted anyway. I could be wrong and the towels I ordered at the same time were listed as red but are really burgundy. Doesn't matter. They coordinate well.
